This publication offers a rare glimpse of the behind-the-scenes thought processes and circumstances that led the transition of art works from their creators’ or dealers’ hands into the holdings of 30 private art collections. With anecdotes penned by the collectors and statements from artists, this publication highlights the dynamic interactions and stories behind art acquisitions and the growth of private collecting in the last few decades.

30 ArtFriends had its genesis in friendly art-exchange sessions hosted by Singapore architect and art patron T.K. Quek and his wife. These sessions materialized into a book project with a non-profit art-related cause.
